    Hi Bob

Not sure what is going on here !!!! Would take some from the bottom to do away with the reflection, I think it will clean the bottom some !! Would smooth out the green bg some and eliminate the one light branch by the wing. Would also do away with the bright spots in the bill ! ... area under the wing looks a little funky !! ... btw for most of these you are better off going to manual exposure, as the bird moves from light to dark (bg) exposure will change but bird remains in same light !!!

looks like the focus point plain is behind the bird and the skimmer is too soft to be saved!

Heavy editing is not within my capability as yet, although a better shot to begin with is a hope. I neglected to mention a heavy crop, sharpening and lucky to get the shot. And there's still something odd about the image.

Aside from the bird being out of focus I do not see anything strange here. Are you referring to the sort of double reflection on the bill?

I like the angle, eye contact and BG in this one and wish the wings were all the way up. I would try to sharpen the bird more if that does not cause artifacts. Another vote for a crop of the bottom.

I was in the muck at the lagoon (Estero) after a long absence. The sighting of the skimmer with this first shot I've taken of it there is odd to me in how it's seen. After significant rotation of the shot to get the shore line level, the reflection of the bird's bill remains a mystery to me. Why isn't the reflection directly below?
