    Had a great deal of fun baiting these White Pelicans. I had no idea how large they could make their pouches when trying to catch a mullet. Nikon D3. 200-400 Nikon @ 200mm, 1/1600 sec @ F/10, ISO 1250, AF:AF-C, WB-Auto, Coments welcome.

    Great moment and exposure, Mac. you did good here :)

    The only thing I could suggest is a lower angle, but this was probably captured from a pier, so please, don't go in the water for me ;)

    A touch of fill flash would have given you a catch light, but you can add that.

    Can only add working on the eye Would lighten the entire area since it seems darker than anything around it The eye is probably the first thing we look at !!!

    Interesting perspective. Agree with others, but this angle permits us to see deep inside the pouch :-) Still trying to figure out what created the hind splash??

    Agree with the others and the lack of light in the eye, but absolutely love the action here...the splash from the wing and beak, the anatomy of the pelican's beak. It tells a great story. Congratulations.
