Well not really ,there has been a project to selectively breed a Quagga, a subspecies of Zebra

    http://www.quaggaproject.org/the-quagga-project.htm

The animals are now mainly in Mokola National Park, this is one with a fairly light rump with few stripes.

Ken, I am very envious of this sighting as I had been following the selective breeding programme over the years. Even with the f11 you have separated the animal well from the background, have you selectively softened any of the background to enhance this? I see a slightly odd bit of light, oof band extending in front of the zebra which may just be the vegetation difference.

Not sure about the cropping, but if it could be cropped slightly to move the zebra's head just a bit to the right as it is looking at you and doesn't really need so much room, if it was looking towards the rhs I would keep the space as is.

Certainly different Ken, unusual colour, those pale peach colours love it, have you been lose with your make-up again?:D

Seriously, nice feature. Happy with the comp as is, might just give it another round of Linear and USM say 100/0.3/0 only on the Zebra, as it looks like NR has run over that too? Perhaps a little Highlight/Shadow to lighten slightly over the nose? F/11 yes..

    Very nice Sir. :)

Ken - I like this. Sweet face and the red markings really stand out. I also like the environment although I might darken the bg particularly the sand immediately to the right of the head. Interesting link too.

Thanks for the comments, it is not really that pink this arises from rolling in in the Kalahari Red sand.

Not that you would no that from the light colours in the BG.

I'll have to give this another go.

    Ken,
Strange zebra. It appears as if some artist has wiped off a few stripes in the zebra. Which species is this? Looks like a healthy animal. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

I like this one Ken. Nice looking animal and the surrounding branches and bush give a good sense of habitat without being overpowering.
