    These so called bird photographers were captured late this afternoon, they would not turn around after repeated calls. Note who's carrying the bigger lens!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

    You should have tried some bird calls, that might have gotten them to turn around. :)

    .....Roman it does not show there but I always put a strap around the camera and a second bynthe lens before placing over the shoulder :D. ....that is after checking all bolts for proper torque:D

    ....doesn,t everybody do so? :)

    I do pretty much the same. And I would position the lens so it's vertical to the ground from camera to the lens hood. I had a few times the lens positioned like that in the photo and the ball head came lose from the plate because of the torque from the weight of the lens+body.

    Say whatever you want but safety first. ;)

    I think getting Al just to show me how to carry a heavy lens this past January was worth a bunch in the workshop and gave me a few extra years of back relief!
