Here is a high key image of this nice heron. I tried to fix the red eye effect that the flash gave, cropped and sharpened.

Those Boat-Billed Heron eyes light up like no other bird when you use flash! I've given up entirely on using flash with them. You did well with the exposure here, and I like the head angle. I would move the bird up in the frame.
