From yesterday around mid day on a cloudy day. Cropped vertical from a horizontal. I also removed a similar branch as the perch, just above the bird. They were gathering nesting materials.

I think this is very nice Dave, I cropped a little, did a darken/lighten center in NIK, took out some blacks from around the eye and sharpened. Hope you don't mind me tweaking around a bit. You can take it or leave it.:D

HI Dave - good looking bird!! Nice repost from Jackie - Subtle changes but does make a difference.
Like the HA - perch and colours - The nesting material adds to the story.
Like how the nesting material is present on the perch and in the birds beak.
    Good show :)

Hi Dave, agree with comments above and might still take a bit more off the top than Jackie did...

    Cropping does look better.

And thanks Jackie, I particularly like what you did bringing out the little white line near the eye.:)

Looks nice Dave, like the perch, pose and BG, tighter crop is better can even go tighter to show more details on the bird!!!

Hey Dave, Great shot of this waxwing, re-post impoves it. The perch is fantastic and a great pose as well.

    Thanks guys.

I am always nervous about over cropping; sometimes they look too big and defects seen to really come to pop out.

Great perch love the Chinese noodles Very good pose and exposure The bird looks a little soft but I think thierr feathers are very fine and naturally have that appearance.
