    A Avocet chick

    From a visit to a local RSPB wetland reserve at Elmley, Kent.

    Technical: Canon 20D, Canon 500 f/4, 1.4 Mk2, f/8, 1/640 sec, ISO 100, - 23 EV, AV mode,

    What a cutie! The muddy foot coming up (or going down) is pretty cool, and I like that you captured the reflection without all the mud around the bird. I wonder if toning down the water saturation would make a better difference here.

    Hi Tom - cute fluffy little fellow.
    Reflection is not that strong and I wonder if it might not be better to evict it - cropping some from the bottom and giving it more of a pano feel.
    Not sure if the HAP may want to talk to you :)

    thanks for your comments and suggestion Connie. Looking back at the original, this shot has had no saturation applied - unusually, for the UK, it was a gorgeous blue sky that day which was reflected in the water.
