    Canon 1D Mark IV, 800 5.6, Iso 800, 1/320 @ f8, Gitzo, LR2.7, Slight crop off top and bottom.
I like the way that the position of the chicks bodies compliment the heart shape cavity.

    Mike:

Very nice, with excellent composition, sharpness and exposure.
I like the different gaze directions, like they are checking out the big new world.

You could consider lightening the shadowed eye on the standing chick.

    Fine capture.

Very nice pair, and a as you say, the cavity really frames them well.
I lost your phone number to MobileMe, could you please PM me with it??
Fuzzballs are just delightful, great EXP control and sharpness.

    Really nice.
As above, I think the hollow in the tree makes a good frame. Sharp detail and great eye contact makes for wonderful image.
Why is it I can only find the owls when they are perched in an evergreen tree and they are right next to the trunk/sunlight streaming through in all the wrong places?:D

I'm partial to owls and this is a prize winner. Great shot. I echo all the comments.

I made images of the same nest a few weeks ago. Your 800mm pics appear sharper than my 500F4l Is with the 1.4 teleconverter attached. Well executed!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I have now lightened the eye ( though I have not posted the change) and it looks better. I would never have believed how much patience it took to get this image. We stood for almost 9 hours to get what I consider 2 keeper images. These chicks are lazy and sleep most of the time. I liked this image for the reason stated above and also the nice low light.
The 800 is an amazing lens especially when coupled with the 1DM4 or 5DM2. I made acceptable images 1 hour after sunset at Iso 6400 using live view to focus!
