Another Tanzania image from this past Feb/March. These guys are just so cute. It is hard not to anthropomorphize them.

1D4 with 500 F4 from vehicle. Evaluative metering at ISO 800 with F 7.1 and 1/1250 - I was shooting some others with more motion. This is a vertical cropped from horizontal and just a bit cropped from top.

Thanks for looking C&C welcome as always.

Ed, this is a vervet monkey and they are indeed very interesting. I do like the fact that you can see this guys eyes, so often they are shaded. You've caught the thorns well and I like the blossom. It can be hard to get a clear sight of the monkeys and still have a good environmental representation of the tree itself. I keep wanting him to bite into that flower right in front of his face, so the image is working for me! Well done.

Hi Ed, nice composition that you have here, and an interesting shot of an animal doing something. Like Hilary says, you expect the monkey to bite the flower any second. Good shot

Hilary, thanks for the ID. I never knew the correct name - or my feeble brain forgot it. Thanks to all for the comments. I chose this image due to seeing both eyes and the eating posture.
