This image, captured almost a decade ago, may lack the usual BPN posting technical quality. But I'm posting it here for the remarkable bird behavior it displays.

The immature bald eagle landed on a tree limb just outside my dining room window. Around a corner of my home was a holly tree, in which a pair of mockingbirds had built a nest and were incubating their eggs. Evidently, the presence of the eagle was more than the mockers could brook, because one of them began to mercilessly taunt the perched eagle. Eventually, despite the enormous size and strength difference, the little mocker succeeded in driving the eagle away. And the eagle did not return!

I had to admire that little mocker for its courage and tenacity.

Thanks for sharing, it's amazing to see how small birds attack presumed predators.
