    My painting side

I have been a long time without the visit of the painting "muses" but recently I received her visit so I took my paintings, brushes and canvas once again. This one is the result "Light blue" (acrylic on canvas, 100x80cms) a work based in the dot painting style of the australian aboriginal people. Another example of this kind of artwork is the background in the image of my avatar, a big format artwork that I made five years ago antitled "My australian connection".
    Hope you like it :)

By the way, "Light blue" is sold ;)

Juan, I love the colors and the style of artwork. This is very interesting and I like the way you put the title in the corner. Very creative and inspirational work.:)

Thanks a lot for your comments :)

Danny: I will try to post the red one tonight. It is my favorite and one of the few paintings I decided to keep for me.

Alfred: “… shades of Pablo" Thanks for such a big compliment. For this painting I wanted to join a bit of the Mediterranean blue with the exotic dot painting style and part of the inspiration came from a book that I read recently “La Vieja Sirena” by José Luis Sampedro. “The Old Mermaid” is the story of a mermaid, Irenia-Glauka, who decided to live her life as a human during Roman´s time. A book full of love, fantasy, philosophy, poetry, friendship, history, devotion, pirates, dolphins, magic, sea and islands in the “Mare Nostrum (Our sea)” the name that Romans gave to the Mediterranean sea. One of the most beautiful books I have ever read. Unfortunately I think that there is no English edition but I recommend the book to everyone who can read Spanish.

Denise, the reason to put the title in such a strange way is that you can hang the painting in three different positions. The main one is the landscape position shown here (the signature is on the bottom right corner but is covered by my website address in this photography); another one is a vertical position (with the “blue” word placed at the bottom left corner) and a third one is a landscape position (with the “light” word placed at the bottom right corner). The painting looks different in each one of the positions and you can change the orientation in an eye´s blink and as much times as you want. ;)

Fabs: I paint this kind of works just following my instinct and when they are finished they looks very different to the first idea I had on mind. What I mean is that there is not a specific aim or goal to which I you wanted to arrive. The basic idea was to paint with blue, brushes and fingers (most of the dots are painted with my finger tips). The basic elements that inspired the paint are the deeps of the ocean, fish schools, mermaids and, of course, the book “La vieja sirena”). One of the mermaids wants to leave the deeps and to live between humans (I think that your interpretation is not very far from the basic idea of a mermaid who wants to escape from the sea and the boring of an immortal life, to experience the love of humans but also their suffering and dead) out of the sea in the light of an island with humans. Glauka is described as a beautiful and amazing woman with a noticeably hair of a unique color but is her way to understand love, friendship and life that makes her so attractive.

Alfred and Fabs, you speaks Spanish and you HAVE TO read this book (it would be a pleasure to send you a copy if you can´t find one)
