I took this one a few weeks ago. Perch needed to be toned down a bit.

Hi Dave - love the subdued BG colours - very dreamy look.
Nice detail in the eye and sharp as a tack - Techs look good.
Crop doesn't quite work for me -maybe some off the top - bit that would remove a lot of the blue. Maybe a Vertical.
Lets see what others say :)

good looking bird and bg, dave. i'd only crop a little off the top and left. a little fill flash might have helped even out the shadows on the belly.

the more i look at it the more i think just a crop off the top. be interested to see what others say.

I would crop quite a bit to make the bird larger in the frame. Also, darken the perch more and open the shadow
details of the breast (think of a reflector at camera right). Love the soft background hues.

Hi Dave, I like what David did with the image. The crop is what I would recommend since it adds to the subjects dominance. I like the effect of lighting and the darkening of the perch.Good job to Dave and David from Dave.

Thanks everyone and thanks a lot David. Well done.

The animated gif's are really quite handy and show clearly the changes.

Light angle was off a bit when i took photo but liked the nice soft bg.
