Well Alfred has started the ball rolling so I'll add another Turkey to the mix. This was taken in Madera Canyon AZ about a month ago. It was my first Wild Turkey and along with his Hareem he'd wake us up every morning around five. We were staying in a cabin there and every morning I thought of Christmas and Cranberry jelly. Every night they roosted in a tree behind our cabin and the shock we had when these got airborne was incredible, I didn't know they could FLY.
Anyways back to the pic. I think I know where Alfred is going with this, I processed these a while back and without giving the game away I too would like to know how this looks on your monitors please. I didn't have the nerve to put them up sooner.
Hi Chris Not really :) Like seeing this for comparison Is this in sRGB? Reds look a little over which is what Axel is pointing out, I'm using Mac and Safari !!
btw that is a handsome bird and well presented, might only crop some from the right to have the head away form the center !! Like it a lot !!
Good-looking specimen and the reds look good on my monitor. I would tone down the whites at the top of the head and try to get more details in the blacks.
I've recently bought an Imac 27", my first mac. I've calibrated the monitor but the mac doesn't give you any control of contrast that i've found. A previous posting of mine, a member thought was a little dark but it looked OK on mine.
I've also just acquired CS5, now I'm an infant in PS and thanks to this site I'm improving all the time but a **** of a way to go. Anyways, playing around with something new as one does I thought I'd try HDR toning and this is the result. I had to fiddle around with some of the settings but quite liked the result. Bearing in mind my inexperience I thought twice about uploading!! After seeing your Turkey I put 2 + 2 together and made 5. Sorry.
So here we are just wondering how it looks on your monitors and awaiting the spanking for using HDR toning.:):)
Hi Chris, no spanking here. Agree with some comments above pertaining to toning down the reds a bit and trying to bring some detail inthe blacks on the upper right. Otherwise I like the image very much. It's sharp, muted backround and holds my interest...
nice job capturing the irridescence!! looks great on my monitor. as dave said, would only like to see more detail in the shadowed area, but not a deal breaker for me. it's still a great gobbler pic!!!
