Default It's Piping Plover chick season

I saw my first chick on Monday. I had been on the beach for over an hour with nothing to show for it. The red knots and black-bellied plovers in breeding plumage were very pretty, but they would not let me get close. As I was leaving I saw this chick and it made the afternoon worthwhile. I watched and shot it for about a half hour. At times it was too close for minimum focus.

And I am amazed how inquisitive and trusting the young birds are - just like little kids.

This is very cute, Alan, I like the contrasting dark sand and the extreme close-up. TFS.
