I wanted to share this and ETL seems like the right place for it. ;)

I have been getting shots of chicks and fledglings over the last month, and a friend called and said "you have to come over to my house and check this out...". They were trying out their wings yesterday, so I think they will be up and away pretty soon. They did not seem to be bothered by my presence at all, and in fact the nest is right outside of a window that is opened and closed a lot. I was able to capture them with a 50mm lens. :) Obviously, no Photoshop heroics, just the scene as I saw it.

    50D, EF50mm f/1.4
    Manual mode, f/5.6@1/100 ISO 400 WB 5100K
AI Servo autofocus, HH, 580EX II FEC -1 2/3 E-TTL mode Evaluative with StoFen diffuser

Hi Kerry, thanks for sharing this. Not often does one see their nest since I know how small they are. Looks like they will be fledging soon.IMO in this case the strong story overides the technicals...

Hi Kerry - sharp as a tack - as Dave said the natural history of the images over rides the perceived faults - IMHO :)
