Like the composition. Just a bit oversharpened in my opinion.

    Roy,

I agree with Troy that the image is oversharpened. Very evident on the talons. The perch is too bright - darken some using a curves adjustment or Multiply blending mode on a BG copy and mask for the perch only.

Good composition with the diagonal perch and room on right to accomodate head angle.

Looks like might be green color cast as well.

Hi Roy - agree with the above comments - doing well though - Like the pose and reckon I can see you in the reflection in the eye.
Just the PP needs some polishing - IMHO. All easy fixes and will come with practice.

Hi Roy, agree with above comments. I don't know what type of nikon you were using but you could have pushed the iso to 400 if you had a D200.Higher with a D300. 1/60 is very slow and your fortunate to have gotten the subject sharp. Would have liked to have seen a bit more room at the bottom...

Lovely image, with good comments given above. Cedar Waxwing breast feathers are so fine that they have a tendency to look soft, and I've noticed several waxwing images on BPN (mine included) that have pushed the sharpening to bring out the detail. Hard to know when to stop. Still, a very nice image.

    Very nice shot Roy.

    Nice and close.

Good suggestions given and I like the comment about over sharpening to get details from the the very fine feathers.
