The soft light and skimming look great. There is a slight halo around the bill and dark plumage.

Great light and I like the long skimming path.

I wonder how this would look with a bot more in the front to pano it?

    Nice composition Fabs!
I like how you left more room behind the bird to show the trail in the water.

Great light and comp - I like the stream of water trailing from the bill.

Nice soft light yet tough angle, one wing blocked the light hitting on left wing.
    TFS.

What are they doing when they going across the water like this? Waiting to catching a fish?

Yes, they are fishing. The water goes out through the opening in the lower mandible. The bill is very thin when seen from the front, that's why the "cut" the water.

    Thanks everyone!

Beautiful capture Fabs. I too see a slight halo and would love to see this as a pano as well. I do like this comp. with the cut in the water trailing behind.

    Hey Fabs,
Water in NY isn't quite as still most of the time! I really like the position in the frame and the cut in the water.....works all around for me....great job!
