This is one from Viera. The Sandhill Cranes were constantly on the move and the little ones really good eaters. :) There was a slope and I cleaned some stuff in the BG.

I like the interaction between parent and chick. A lot of caring from the parent. Good to see the eyes from both birds. Very nice one.

Good capture, I hope they are still among the living, last report, they were nowhere to be seen :(
Lovely use of DOF and EXP control.

I'm not sure, on my last day I couldn't find them anymore.

Lovely photo! May crop of the right a bit if it were mine. Everything else looks good to me.

Lovely interaction , Axel. Agree on trying a crop from the right to decentre the action a bit.

    Axel,

Nice moment captured, good low angle and DOF keeping all the important stuff in focus. I feel the chick is too bright in the highlights - not over exposed - just too bright. I tried a highlights selection using the channels pallet and then using a BG layer and creating a grayscale mask. Blending mode to multiply and adjusted the Blend If for the layer. I further painted out most of the image accept for the chick to see how it looked.

I will post it if you wish.

This is wonderful even down to the little grub.
I would not mind where they were in the frame if it were mine:)

Thanks, Robert! Sure, feel free to repost. I'm actually fine with it as it is, I made this on an afternoon with high clouds and the chick looks how I remember the scene.
