This one is from the past year, near Doñana National Park (Huelva) Spain. This is a very interesting corvid species living in colonies and with an uncommon distribution. It can be found only on the southwest of the Península Ibérica and in .... China!

Very lovely despite the large perch. The bird and the background look like velvet. Great that you included the whole perch. If I had seen the EXIF data I might have suggested a bit more dof to cover the bottom of the perch which is a bit closer to the camera. later and love and keep them coming, artie

Is that the real texture of the feathers or the result of some noise reduction?

A very neat bird. The perch is a bit dominant for my liking. Still a great image.

John, as far as I can remember there is no noise reduction here. The plumage is really silky in this species.:)

Large perch, true enough, but I like how the top part of it and the bird's tail are parallel. A very pretty bird!

Beautiful bird, Juan, great colors too. I don't mind the perch, it seems to go with the deal :)

I'm pretty sure I haven't seen an image of this species before. Thanks for sharing. I like the pose and BG. The large perch is not distracting since it has an interesting shape.

Amazing! Thanks. A wonderful bird and a wonderful image. Comp, BG and perch are all excellent in my opinion.
