    Canon Eos ID Mark IV, 500mm L IS, 1.4 x t.c.

    700mm, f/5.6, 1/50 sec, ISO - 2000

The lighting was really poor. hence had to drop down on the aperture and Bump up the ISO. But i am really happy i got the Mark IV for even at 2000 the results are as you see. This was Taken at 1815 hours when the light was already bad in Kabini, south India.

Hi Ramesh Glad your pushing the camera, does perform well just don't under expose !!!

I like the center position for this one and the relaxed pose. Having a straight at you look makes it even better .. did well with the low shutter speed !! About all I can suggest is a slight vignetting for drawing attention to the center (not much) ...and might tweak the eyes to lighten a bit !! Big Congrats on this one !!!!

Really like this. As Al said the stare makes it. There seems to be something on the right front paw (the one hanging down). It looks like it is in front of the paw or some kind of artifact. Again agree it is a great image.

Stunning look! Those eyes are indeed killers! you did well pushing the ISO - I have found the same thing - the 1D4 performs very well. I particularly like the tonal range of the image. Just super!

Great image, the best thing being the inclusion of everything. Incredibly sharp for a shutter speed this low I presume you were using a support? Central position is perfect, I only wish that branch exiting the rump were not ther, but this is what you get with Leopards in trees:)
I have not been able to get anything this good at high ISO out of my MkIV so far, I guess I'll keep on trying.

    Hi Ramesh,
Nice image. Light seems to be pretty low, as is normally the case in Kabini. You have done very well in such conditions. I like the looks and the pose. It appears the focus is slightly ahead of the leopard. Hence the sharpening artifacts on the paw. Do you have a vertical? Look forward to more.

    Cheers,

    Hi Ramesh

I assume this was shot with Vinay as they are almost identical? I prefer your image because of the format and you seem to have a brighter/cleaner image. As most points have been raised, my only comment would be on the crop, I would lose perhaps half the space (or a little less) on the lhs and have a fraction more below. The central placement isn't an issue just prefer the animal to be slightly off centre.

Hi Ramesh, this is one arresting image. You did very well to get it sharp at just 1/50sec..Loved the composition and the background, also the leopards stare, and alert ear position. I agree with Steve on maybe cropping a little from the left.
    Great shot

Love that stare! Also like the way the background colors and the colors of the leaves compliment the eyes.
