    Default Siblings

James Shadle took us out to Alafia Banks and these juvenile Reddish Egrets were quite cooperative. The light was still very low and there was no direct sunlight yet. Fortunately, the low light noise performance of the Mark IV is pretty good. I'm wondering if the BG with the Mangroves works for you, I actually like it.

I posted an image that I made of one of these birds a few minutes later at first sunlight: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=65059

Super sweet, Axel, and yes, the evironment really works for me. Love that the siblings are both sharp and the gentle wavelets in the background add alot. I assume that you were handholding the 500 at 1/160? Just amazing that you can do that and produce like this.

Thanks, Grace! Yes, I was handholding while we were standing in the water.

I like the environment and it is something I like to see whenever possible. It is not intrusive, and actually the bits of green provide a colorful element to the image. Well done, Axel.

Axel, liked the shot a lot. Nice DOF work covering both the birds. Thx for sharing.

looks good Axel, nice show of environment, good details and colors are good too, for my taste would add a bit saturation to the reds.

I especially like the mangroves.....it certainly adds a "depth" to the image as well as give a sense of habitat. Well done on the "fuzz balls", too.

Mangroves work for me as well. Nice to see some habitat in images. It doesn't always work , but it works for this one. Beautiful light is a key to this one as well.

This comp works so well, and I like the inclusion of the BG habitat. Impressive sharpness for HH, and the slow ss. Well done.

Axel, BG works for me, It is out of focus enought for being not distracting but retains details about the habitat :)
