I managed to locate 2 Serval kittens on a regular basis in the Masai Mara Kenya for a about a month some times going days without a glimpse, good light was always a problem, this day was cloudy except the last 30 seconds of the day.

    Hi Ken

Can you please clarify what you are looking for in relation to feedback on the above image so we ALL know how to respond. Just trying to ensure there is no issues or misunderstanding by the readers/viewers.

In addition, if you want to post more 'Art' images, then perhaps you might like to check out other parts of the Forum which might be more beneficial in all respects to your imagery?

Strangely we had a good sighting of Serval kittens in the Mara in September 2007, but we had three.

You can find some of the images taken by the guy we were sharing the vehicle with at this link

I am not to sure about the red presumably it was taken at sunset or sunrise.

Ken my servals were in 2008 about 1km from Olkiombo airstrip, it was afternoon light that broke through the clouds above the escarpment ( you know that bloody great mountain that catches all the clouds blocking our warm afternonn light)

    Hi Ken

OK, a straight forward image of a Serval cat, however it is a rarity to see them, so both you & Ken W have been very lucky. The head turn adds a little more to the portrait, however I would like to see more on the RHS for the cat to look into and slightly less space to the lhs and above.

There is a slight magenta cast to the image which has come through processing, irrespective of the time of day or lighting. Some attention in Shadow/highlights to the area around the eye would help to bring out the detail there, but obvious the image would not be 100% crisp looking at the SS & ISO, however acceptable for web use, certainly not Getty standard.:) Would run some NR over the BG just to reduce the noise and drop the Saturation slightly. From a 'gardening POV' would remove the slightly distracting stem and branch on the very lhs.
