The Pink Cockatoos often raise their colourful crests when when they first alight onto a perch. Only one chick was raised but stolen by nest robbers :(. Pairs can fetch $5000 to $10,000 on the black market!!

Lovely bird here John and the eye is sharp. I might prefer a slightly lower angle here but considering that you were on a tower that likely wasn't an option.

Nicely framed John with excellent exposure and good eye contact.. These are such beautiful birds and you did a fine job capturing it. A slightly lower angle as Stephen mentioned would be nice but lovely as presented. thanks for sharing.

Beautiful bird with awesome head feathers!! Maddening story though :-( Was there some work done on the BG between the bird's forehead and trunk? I see what looks like some BG bleeding onto the tree and a few clone marks?

I can see why they'd cost so much!! They are impressive birds, wish they could be protected!

Beautiful bird, the raised crest really makes this image. It sounds as if they need better protection, are they rare?

Good eye Daniel - I did a rush job of cloning out a branch that extended behind the head.
