    Default Macgillivray's Warbler

Hey all, had a bad day at work on Friday and decided to walk it off by going after a hard to find warbler i still needed for my Life list.
Macgillivray's is a nesting species over here but finding them is a challenge.
Being a birder as well as photographer i was able to ask other local birders where they could be found and loaded with some useful info set off on what should have been a 6km in and out, it turned into a 10km 'marathon" when i parked in the wrong spot and added at least 4km to my walk, loaded down with gear on shoulder.
Long story short, i got to the location and the bird gods smiled down on me because i was treated to some great looks, after i finally detected one in the low bushes. :)

    Paul:

Nice reward for your long hike.
    Sharp, nice angle, well exposed.

I might consider toning down the perch behind the bird.
Interesting strand between the bill tips.
Maybe a sliver more room to the left.

    Good work ( quite literally)

    Cheers

    Randy

Killer bird. Good EXP. Nice head turn and singing pose. Relatively sharp for 1/125. There is a bit of motion blur at the bill tips (as would be expected). The perch branch and BKGR are what they are--not too attractive. IAC, congrats on the capture.

HI Paul, Nice reward for the long hike, nice detail and colors but the BG as noted is a bit distracting.

    Hey Paul,
Nice looking bird. Reminds me of a yellow warbler only with a black head of course. I have heard that we have them here as well but never have seen one. Must have taken quite some time once you were there to get as clear a shot as you did if these guys are anything like common yellow throats to shoot. Nice feather detail on the bird.

    Take care,

    Steve
