I had posted the heads up shot in avian a month or so ago. This also just missing one ha. I tried very hard not to have any channels blown out and still ended up with off at both ends. Everything was ok at tiff size.
50D, 500mm, 1/1250, f/5.6,Av +1.33, ISO400. Leveled and cropped. Rather than set a white/black point, I set bg as a grey point as it was very close any way.

Hi Dave, another pleasing image! Somehow I feel the first post is a bit stronger due to presence of the single bird.
    This is also well handled!

Hi Dave - whilst this does work - do prefer the first one - have just enough separation between the birds here - Ha's look pretty good.
The original had a softer feel whilst also not appearing as contrasty as this one - Also having the single bird there was 1 really defined thing to focus on.
    IMHO of course.
    Good show!

looks very nice, great exposure and low angle pose is great and there is just enough seperation between the two. it seems to be a bit lacking in fine details, maybe a big crop?

Thanks guys. Comments are very helpful.
Arash crop is larger than I would have liked. I was in the middle of a mud flat with no where to hide, staying low and all the twisting and turning got me off level. I agree that looking at it today online it looks soft.
