Fabs, great exposure on both the whites and blacks of the skimmer, and overall nice and sharp too. Good to see the catch.

Pretty cool composition, exposure and sharpness look very good, too.

    Fabs:

Very nice, with the bird nicely positioned against the background, like the other skimmers below.
Unusually good eye here, well exposed and sharp. Fish a plus.

THe only thing that caught my eye was the almost specular reflections off the heads of the skimmers below. Not sure what is causing that. Could consider toning them down.

    Very well done.

    cheers

Love the SH and the row of skimmers below. Where? I wish that the bird in flight were a bit lower.

Well done as expected. You are the master. The repost is much more pleasing to the eye.

How is straight centered more pleasing?

Marco Island, a long, hot walk.

    Thanks everyone.

For me, in the original post, there is too much space between the bird in flight and the birds below....

Like the composition Fabs. Excellent pose and fantastic light. I should work on skimmers next time.

    Hey Fabs,
Interesting observations above but I will disagree and say I prefer the OP! Since there is no merger with the wings and the far shore I prefer the OC in that position....gives a sense of flow and appearance of the OC looking for his mate. In the repost by David.....besides the centered comp.....I find the BG becomes a distraction and if you chose to go that route.....I would crop to a pano and get rid of the far shoreline entirely!....so my preference is for the OP. I wouldn't touch a thing!
