Artie has given us wonderful pictures of the Laysan Albatross on Midway. Here is one in the Pacific at 30 mile bank off San Diego, taken on a 2.5 day Pelagic trip. Some adjustments in PS, slight crop.

    Myer:

I like the dramatic side lighting here coupled with the dark background, makes me think of stormy weather.

I like the diagonal and angle in the frame. Would try a version with a bit more room on the left, to see what you think.

The exposure is right on the edge for the whites on my monitor, and I might try to tone down the whites a bit, but like it as is.

    Cheers

    Randy

I like the pose, head angle and eye contact. Some more PS tweaking would make it even stronger. I would lighten the sky, tone down the whites and try to get more details in the blacks using curves.

Repost is definitely better and it's a beautiful subject.

I kinda like the side lighting on this one and definitely like the diagonal.

The repost does look better but it introduced artifacts in the BG, maybe from resaving. There is also a brighter patch on the right side.

Aside from the BKGR stuff (it was there in the ORIG post), this is one of your best. Love the sidelight and the SH.
