Light, angle and eye contact look very good, I would only sharpen it a bit less.

Interesting comment on the sharpening Axel.

Originally, I sharpened to my original parameters and then backed it down a whole 50%.

Darn 600VR and TC14 combo is just too sharp I guess :)

Isn't that a nice problem to have? :)

Really nice shot Jim! I like the low angle and great light. Don't you just love those 'too sharp' images where you have to back off on sharpening! I do agree with Axel that the image could stand a little less sharpening as presented.

    Jim:
Lovely colors in the bird and rock, brought out by the soft early light and good exposure.
The image is very sharp as is, on verge of starting to look crispy, but OK on my monitor, and I usually err on the side of less sharp compared to others.

    Cheers

    Randy

    Beautiful image Jim,
The colors on the rock complement the colors on the bird nicely.

You snapped the shutter at the right time - that early morning light puts it over the top. You are teaching those Plymouth shorebirds to hold their heads in the perfect position.

Yep, the light and colours really makes this image stand out. Good low angle of capture and HA, and agree there are bits that have gone a tad crispy. Doesnt distract from a fine image.

I think I need to get my computer glasses checked...seriously :)

Could very well be that my vision is changing.

...and this is why it pays to get up before dawn. Fine looking specimen well displayed in this lovely light. Ok, so it's a little sharp, and easy fix. Good job, Jim.

Jim, this one rocks. Light is magic, pose is sweet and I like the rock very much. Colors are just so beautiful with this light. I agree with downgrading for a cheap lens -:).....I mean sharpening a bit less.

Really sweet light, gorgeous colors, perfect pose and super detail. Agree with above comments; but I'll trade my less sharp lens with yours any day. Nicely done.

Gotta love the light on this one. Colors and details of the plumage and the perch outstanding. Sharpness is on the edge, but OK for me, though my posted images sometimes look oversharp to others. Beautiful.
