Hi all.
I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself as I was never active on this forum, even though I registered close after the launch. Some of you might remember me from the other fori.
My name is Peter den Hartog, 32 (though I prefer to 25 for the 7th time), high-energy astrophysicist at Stanford (www.stanford.edu/~hartog), Dutch from origin.
Witnessing the total solar eclipse of the Sun in 1999 in Hungary made me go into photography. This experience changed my view to things and therefore my life. Now I've seen 6 total solar eclipses. I like to organize trips to them and preferably to destinations which are far off the beaten path. Highlights were in the central Sahara in Libya and far western Mongolia.
As an astrophysicist time is the major liming factor, especially here in the US. In Europe I at least had 9 weeks of vacation a year, but with the 2 weeks I get at Stanford long trips are out of the question. Still I try to take as much weekend trips to the marvelous parks nearby. I hope to contribute some images soon.
If you want to see some of my older work, please visit my website: www.peterdenhartog.com
Cheers
P
