    Default Walking Duckling

Was at Green Cay the other day and observed this Mottled Duck Duckling rise up and flap what there is of its wings as it tried to follow its mother. This is a cute duckling, not an ugly one. Photograped moments before a typical south Florida torrential downpour.

Hi Milt, cute indeed! Well exposed, the head and beak look sharp, and love the details of the body feathers. Well done! TFS

Good detatil and the blur of the wings adds a sense of motion. if possible a lower angle would help

Wonderful action, and cute duckling indeed. I agree the blurred wings and raised foot add to the image, as does the slightly off-balance look. Good detail and terrific timing. I wonder if brightening the eye a bit would help??

Too cute - Agree with lightening the eye a bit - a lower shooting angle could have put this way over the top.
like the raised foot and the sense of motion.
    Great feel.
    Like it a lot!!

Hi Milt, I like the lighting and the detail. Lightening the eye a bit would help and agree on a lower angle otherwise nicely done...

Thanks to all for your C&C. I, too, would have liked a lower shooting angle but unfortunately, at Green Cay, we photograph from a boardwalk and there are slats beneath the top rail, making it impossible to slip the lens through. This capture was made hanging over the top rail as far as my 83 year old body allowed me to go.

Hi Milt ... you can sneak over the rail and get a low angle when no one is watching :) .. just look out for Alligators :D btw there are lots of chicks at Wako, check the out, right when you come in to the left !!

Like the pose and stretch wings sure make him cute, was wondering is you con lighten the little guy just a bit, can go over with the dodge tool at 10% nothing complicated !! Excellent and should have had a cuteness warning !!!
