    Default Kildeer at sunrise.

Hope you are not getting bored of these :-) I got an opportunity to spend good 15-20 minutes with them last weekend.

    40D. 400f5.6L at f/8. iso 400. 1/500s.

Some might feel that the head should have been turned a little towards me. But I think, with this light angle, this head angle works well. Do you agree? With a bird like Kildeer, its hard to control the light angle. You position yourself and then crawl like a gator to get close ( have to with a 400mm lens :-) and then the Kildeer runs away. Then you again have to crawl to another position and then he moves further away.

I can relate to the crawling around.

I agree that the HA does not ruin the picture but it would be better if it were turned toward you just a bit.

I still like the foreground the background as well as the light.

Personally I don't think the HA is a problem here.

There are a couple of major blades of grass I would clone out.

    I like the low angle.

Kaustubh, I mentioned in your previous post that I was enjoying your series, and this one is no different. Getting down and dirty for these low angles works so well, and in this, I really like the colours on the kildeer and the sharpness. I would maybe try and lighten the eye if possible.

    Hello KD!
I can't get tired of this little ones! very nice image with great light and subject. I find the HA to be fine, at least for my standards. Again I would be tempted to crop a tad on bottom.

I like this one, too. I was wondering about the head angle. Could you have moved a bit to your right? That would have taken care of the issue.

Beautiful image. The low perspective is great.

Like the low angle as well as OOF FG & BG. HA not a nit to me as you got the eye and full profile very nicely.

Axel, the bird wasn't very steady. This was a brief moment that he paused for. I was trying different angles all the time. But with the overgrown grass, skittish bird and varying BG, ticking all the checkboxes was not easy.
