This is specially for John Chardine, he loves RBGs and I can't post one without thinking of him :)
Captured during the Surf and Turf workshop, in Ft. Desoto's East beach.
It was amazing to see them get crab after crab, and fight over them too.

I really like the pastel foreground and background. The light is beautiful and of course the crab tops it all.

Like it a lot Fabs. great lighting and exposure and the crab really makes it.

I might try cropping some off the bottom and might even go all the way to the reflection and pano it?

Fabs, amazing light which in turn has brought the colours nicely. I like the placement of the gull, and his catch is an added bonus. An opportunity well used.

Light, angle, crab and mood make this one for me. If it were mine, I might crop a tad off the bottom.

    Fabs this is beautiful, really.

Love the soft light and water that acts as a natural reflector on the bird's feathers. Crab is a big bonus.
Agree with Axel about cropping a tad on bottom.:)

Beautiful image Fabs, with nice soft colours. Great catch this gull too. If you mean what I think by RGB, then this one ain't one of those as they don't have the red spot on the lower mandible;). Perhaps a HG?:)

The soft pink tones are pleasant, but the crab in the beak makes it for me.

But I can see the red partially covered by the crab.

    Thanks everyone for your comments

Yes, but what I was saying (perhaps not clearly) is that RGBs do not have such a red spot...therefore the individual in your image is not an RGB. I'm thinking more Herring Gull.

Just got back from the field no only just saw post. I think it is a Herring Gull Fabs, but no matter I love the image. All said before. Love the pastel colours and of course the food item.

Younger Herring Gulls sometimes show a black ring on their bill, and the remnants linger into adulthood.
