Default F86 Sabre -- Which do you prefer?

    Hey Guys,

Was putting these two through Cs5 and couldnt decide which one i prefered for ages, Finally i decided which one I prefer but I thought it would be interesting to see what other people would do?

Hope you like both though :)

Ps if you would rather I kept to the biologial kind of bird in future say and I will refrain from my airshow exploits :p

    Both Taken with D2x, center weighted, 70-300 @ 300 1/320 ISO 160

    or pic 2

I really like both images but i guess it depends on where you like the wing position, being a cold war jet this aircraft doesnt have a preferred photography angle although I personally like top sides and photographing before the aircraft passes me.

Personally I prefer the 2nd one (although its very very close)

    C&C welcomed!

I also like both Peter but would choose the second one also. Like the cloud and sky BG seperation on the second and the see through of the cockpit on the first. Looks as if you were in another plane above and taking pics. Thanks for sharing these ...at least with these birds the wing tip feathers are not blurred ;) Harold Davis may be on his way for the next UK air show! Keep them coming

Topside without a doubt !!! ... unless you could zoom in close and see the pilot with detail bg with clouds make all the difference and the exposure is not bad :D:)

... we only post one per post but don't have the heart to take one down ..probably would have nightmares tonight :)

hehe glad that you like it, I was genuinley torn between the 2 for different reasons. One of the reasons i posted both (even if bending the rules slightly ;)) was to get other people opinions on the WA and BG

    all comments welcome :)

Hi Peter,#2 for me! Good positioning in the frame(better than the first) along with even lighting. Good detail and the clouds add an element to the image!

I actually prefer the first. I like the nice uniform bg and the more even exposure on the plane.

The second is probably more dynamic, but the darker shadows on the plane takes away a bit for me.

    Both are very well done.

I like both also...but number one is my choice as it seems to have better exposure and more of an at work attitude....:)

its interesting to see some people prefer the first and some the second.

its a hard aircraft to photo, not only is it hard to focus on as the camera can miss focus in bright light on silver aircraft but its hard to expose correctly.

Either way im pleased with both :)
