Any sighting of a Caracal in daylight is special, and the only place I have seen this was in the Mara.
When I looked at your website yesterday, I thought you had better images than this, I shall look again;)

    Hi Ken
I liked the alert stance of this cat. Slight pity about the OOF grass on the lower part of the cats body but that is reality. Very tough to photograph them in daylight, I have had only a handful of sightings in daylight and I work in the bush in Botswana. Normally see them scampering off. Well done

beautiful animal, very difficult cat to find here in SA , Farmers have being persecuting this animal for decades, so numbers dwindling and very shy..

love the pose , lovely image

Great opportunistic sighting and capture Ken, with a lovely lookback.
    Was this a large crop?
I can only wish for such a sighting come my Mara trip in Oct.:D

Hi Ken Big Time Congrats on this one !! Glad you came out with a fine image !!!

Like the look back and position in frame ! Animal was back lit and think a bit underexposed, can tweak in PS ! Might want to try removing the one oof green area, should not be difficult, animal is so good it does not bother me at all but would evict for printing ... hope you print this one !!! Big Congrats !!!

    Great sighting and lovely pose.

I was lucky enough to see one in the daylight in South Africa right next to a road while on transfer towards Blyrivier or somewhere. Luckily no-one behind me so I could brake and back up. A nice view we had, but I couldn't get the camera from the back seat quickly enough to get even a record shot as it walked of. Still these 10 secs or so were among the highlights of a 2 month trip. Who could forget a lovely face like that?

    Cheers

    Peter
