    Nikon D300, Nikon 300, f/2.8. with 1.7X teleconverter. 1/1250 @ f4.8. ISO 250, tripod mounted. matrix metered.

    I love being able to see the tongue and the bird itself looks very good. I think if the shadowed twig under the beak was removed (if you do that sort of thing) would make a good image even better.

    Nice timing Phil and nice pose,i would prefered a bit more warm light!
