.. different and like it a lot !!! Would crop tighter !!!

Colors look much better, still over saturated but for this pose and mood don't have a problem with it !! Realistic is not but like it a lot !! Got a keeper !!!

excellent Ken, agree with Al, crop tighter and go 3 by 2. If you had stopped down to f/8 the tip of the beak would have been in sharp focus too. Well done

I like the vertical format, and the gradient of the background. Very cool! Too bad you clipped the bill, especially where the bird was actually preening. It looks like the image was underexposed, and lightened PP, since there is a bit of noise. Have you tried pushing exposure? In these shots you generally need more DOF, and although you focused well on the eye. etc. it might be better to get more in focus.
    Good job. regards~Bill

Love the BG and eye contact. However, agree with Arash that more DOF would have really made this shot. Nice one though.

Actually the tip of the bill was beneath the chest feathers and was not visible, so I cropped it there (slight bottom crop) trying not to have a larger vertical area...will go back and look at the the two fames. Thanks guys

Like the crop and clean BG.
Agree with Arash on f/8 to get more of the bird in focus. TFS.

I really like the idea and the bg colours.

Even with the bill hidden in feathers, I miss it.

    Different and well done.

Hi Ken, agree with above comments, but must add that I really like how you composed the image, and the two-tone BG is creamy: Sweet!

Lovely shot. Good comments given above. Even though the bill tip was hidden in feathers, it seems to be missing here since you have almost all of it, so I would add my vote for a tighter crop as suggested above. Agree it looks a bit oversaturated, but perhaps that's the intent. f/8 would have helped, but in any event a terrific shot.
