    This was taken a couple months ago as the Dunlin were gathering for their trip North.
    I am curious if it works. A couple things that bother me a bit are the big merge near the middle and the few bits of oof birds just touching the edge. Cropped for leveling.
    50D, 500mm +1.4TC, 1/500, f/5.6, EC1.33, ISO400.

    Hi Dave, agree with your self critique.
    A few things. First I would have liked the forward most bird in a different pose rather than head on. Your right about the merging of the backround birds.
    I would also have not included the far backround which competes for attention...

    The BG is so large with so many "hints" of birds and other things that it distracts me from the subject. Cropping as DM suggests helps.

    hi Dave
    agree with the above comments - pose on the front bird is just not strong enough to hold the viewers attenion
    if it was it might make it easier to overlook the stuff going on in the bg
    as is for me would be a record shot.

    It is a real challenge to capture the mood of what I am seeing and feeling!

    Hi Dave this one is not working for me, not sure what I'm concentrating on? .. the first set of oof are not recognizable .. do like what your trying to capture and hope you go after many more like them !!
