    Default Cheetah Hunt

i Followed this mother & two 7-8 month old cubs for a few weeks every day all day, i witnessed many hunts but she liked the long grass most of the time, on this occasion they moved to the short grasses on paradise plains in the Masai Mara Kenya, The Cheetah in the BG is one of the cubs maybe even faster than her mum!!

    Shot in 2007, Nikon D2x 300mm

Poor little "wiglet" did they get it, or did Mum and Dad get them? I remember seeing a Cheetah badly scratched and exiting stage left after an attack by a good mother.

Nice to see the cub looking towards you and Mum and Dad Warthog coming to the rescue in the BG.

Great image do you have any more shot info?

Outstanding action Ken !!! Amazing having all good head positions !! ... with mom and dad so close thought it would end up differently !!

Could lighten the foreground cheetah and darken the cub (slightly) Big Congrats on this one !!!

Amazing image. I'm guessing this was just an appetizer after all that work.

Super cool! I, too like the adults trying to rescue from the BG. The cats are sharp and the eye contact great!

    ken,
Lovely action. It is good that you mentioned the weeks you had been waiting for this one. Most often the perseverance of the wildlife photographer is not noticed by people.

What was the aperture used? Lightening the two warthogs in the background would be good.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
