    Saw the Snowy go for the fish and thought I got it until I looked on the computer...

    are my eyes playing tricks on me or has that fish slipped out of the bill ?

    Such a wonderful eye well caught that man! neck and body seem a little dark tho, was that done in PP?

    Hi Peter, Yes, the neck is dark due to the contrast in lighting. The head was lit nicely but the neck was in shade.
    Tried to soften the contrast between the two.
    The fish had gotten away

    Hi Dave,
    Sorry if you missed the action you were after, (guess this Egret is sorry too:p). I find the lighting here very pleasing, much like spot lighting. Love the bg/water color. Escaped fish and water drops adds to interest. Lovely.

    Worked on lightening that area and cropped a bit. I seem to have overlooked that neck area...

    Repost looks much better.

    Quite surprising and I bet that it is a pretty rare occasion when a bird drops a fish.

    Really like the nice blue bg and how the fish seems to match it so well.

    One lucky fingerling - will live to eat or get eaten another day. Great image. Sharp eye really pops and blue water is beautiful. Repost really helps.

    the whites look a lot better in the repost, but i think it prefer the comp of the first. i love that blue water against the whites and yellows of the bird!!
