    Default Reddish Egret

I wanted to try something different and made this at first light. James Shadle took Arash, Artie and me to Alafia Banks that morning, great place to go.

Wow, absolutely love the light here! Great job.
It's slightly tight in the frame to my eyes. I would like tad more room behind and in front of the bird.

    Axel:

Striking early light, love the spikey hair do. Nice shooting angle, might like a bit more space in front, per Sidharth, am OK with rear.

    Cheers

Axel, I really like this one wonderful light, comp and pose. I think the crop works as you posted it, good work.

In what state is Alafia Banks?

I love the light you had for this. Maybe just a bit too warm for my taste , but beautiful just the same.

Axel, exposure looks spot on. Light is indeed very nice. A good case for 8X10 crop?

Love the lighting on this one Axel....comp is a little tight for my personal taste...but the BG and exposure makes this pop. Was there with James three weeks before....and the juveniles were still in the nest....guess I will have to go back. Nice early morning capture

Axel, I like the way you PP the dark BG.
    Any tips on that?

The dark BG compliments the bird so well.

Thanks, Troy! Actually, I didn't do anything to the BG except noise reduction. I used manual exposure and exposed for the bird.

    Thank you. That was great.
Really like the dark BG, as most of my shots, all have a bit of reflection on the surface of the water.

Thanks, Kiran! This is a juvenile and their plumage is not very colorful at this point. The red here is due to very early light.

Sweet, sweet light, and just love the way that early morning light has brought out the colour in the egret. Stands out so well against the darker BG. A little more space on the right would work.
