    70-200 mm with 1.4tc
    hard to capture these critters esp when overhead

    While I find the angle a bit steep, the look-down pose makes it interesting. I would try to get more details in the blacks.

    looks very good, sharpness is fine would try to get more detail in the blacks as Axel suggested.

    quick way is to go back to RAW, use magic wand tool to select the sky, go to select menu choose inverse, then feather selection by 2 pixels. then pick highlight shadow and move shadow slider to 15-20 (careful not to overdo). Then downsample and sharpen

    Or If you have Nikon Capture NX2 just put a bunch of color control points in the dark areas and drag the brightness slider to brighten the shadows.

    Like the first post better Stuart...sky Bg is more realistic...see if you can get the results that Arash suggested on the detailing....good shot ...yes they are difficult overhead. Do you have the one or two prior frames?
