Ted nice sharp image here. I like the light, the intense gaze and the snow kick-up.

Sweet light and ditto intensity of stare.
If you state "baited", as I am new to that, what is involved?

    Ted,

This is just terrific. Your timing was wonderful as the snowy flying up from the strike adds a lot to the impact of the image. I had a tough time tracking this bird with my 500 and finally went down to a 70-200 f4 which I found much easier to frame the owl with. Congrats on a great capture!

The overall exposure in this is excellent. Ditto the intense stare, and those eyes are very piercing. Very well captured.

Thanks Geurt; the term "baited" refers to suppling the bird with an enticement such as a mouse/rat; to lure them into a closer range.

Thank you to everyone for the Compliments..

I like everything about it. The snow being kicked up with the wing is a nice extra.
