    Default Killdeer at low angle

40d. 400 f/5.6 wide-open. iso 400. 1/800s. cropped from all sides for composition. This one had real nice roufus coverts

I have a few in the traditional poses but liked this one much more. Clicked just before he sat down to hide. Thanks for looking. All C&C welcome.

KD, I like the alert pose and eye contact, don't mind the habitat at all and think the band of lighter glass gives a great 3D feel to the image. TFS.

Perfect exposure and composition with nice soft complimenting background.

    Well done.

    Hey Kaustubh,
I generally prefer slightly higher angles but here you've managed to capture a FG I really like. I like the colors and the focus point on the grasses and kildeer is just perfect! Very well done!!!

Great color in the bird and nice BG. The low angle makes this image really stand out.

I like the angle, setting, light and composition. If anything, I might remove the one diagonal blade of grass in front of the dark patch on the neck.

    Very sweet image Kaus!
Love that grass and the clarity of the face. I was playing around with some cropping and find that it wouldn't hurt to crop a tad on bottom.

Juan, thx for taking the time. Awesome job on removing the grass blade. I'd left that much room below for virtual feet and then some below. Moreover, since the bird is stooping down, I thought the image would be more bottom-heavy. But now that you've cropped it, I think it does work well. Thx.

Kaustubh, the low angle works really well here, and love the DOF effect. Lovely soft light and BG colours, and well placed in the frame.
