    This image was taken on my recent trip to Costa Rica. In Tortuguero [ which is on the Caribbean coast ] along the banks of the river I photographed this tiger heron. Each side of the river is rainforest and a wonderful place for them to hide.

    Nikon D3

    1/200, F4

    Hey Judy Lynn,
    It's there now! Looks like a combo of a night heron and greenie! Light looks very good and I like the way you captured him peeking out of the brush. This is the first one I have seen of this species and sounds like you had an awesome trip!

    I havent seen this species before Judy, and I like the feather detail. He doesnt look happy.
