Is the Out of Bounds technique acceptable for this or is it just use of DOF and filters? I know that the side-by-side cross-eyed viewing images are not, but other than that, I'm not sure where the "box" ends on this one.

I don't see why not. It looks 3D to me!
An excellent job of OOB editing. :)
Thanks for your view on this theme!! I like everyone's take on this!
Patti, Works for me too! I like the way you designed the image and the gradient BG is a nice touch-I think that some may have issue w/ the Plover angling away-but I think that it fits this look very well.
Patti, it sure looks 3D to me. Great job:)

3D and interesting. The plover's heavy molt bugs me a bit. It might work a tad better with only the plover's head sticking out of the frame.... Agree with Denise on the plover angling away; angling towards you would have been much better.

Thanks all. I agree that it would have been better if the bird had flown toward me instead of angled away. I need to work on that bird training a bit more.;)
I'll try to find a better starting photo and do another one if I have some time. I've tried the action on action central, but it doesn't work too well for me, so these things take me forever. And I didn't even do any of the fancy warped frames and shadows.
Patti
Like your idea a lot Patti. Just wish for a bit sharper plover. Really like the overall comp and execution:)
Patti, good thinking in the concept and execution. Agree with above comments and really like your idea on this one!
