    Default Closing in.

Even this close, the Buffalo's had not yet spotted her.
Unfortunately this female did not make an attempt on any members of this herd, as taking on any Buffalo solo would only end in disaster.
She was waiting and hoping that her 3 large male companions would support her, but unfortunately they never appeared interested. The alpha male of the 3 had been mating with her for close to 6 days and she was getting quite ravenous.
Nothing particularly special about this shot, however I feel it tells the story quite well.

Hi Marc, great, intense look on the lioness's face but I find such a large area of oof foreground very distracting especially the bird. I like the idea of what you've attempted here but not sure how it could have been shot to make the buffs less (not sure of the expression I'm after) big and soft. I wonder if cropping the closest buff would improve it, just leaving the horns and tops of the farthest 2?

Must have been a great moment though, full of tension and anticipation and your image certainly shows that so well done.

    Marc,

I think know what you were trying to achieve, but I do not really think it has worked.

I think a large crop from the bottom would add to the impact.

Personally I would just like to see Lions stalking Bufallo, you think it would be possible after almost a year on Safari:(

    Hi Marc

Like idea of the stock, agree with Ken regarding the bottom, no need for such much down there and the bird kills it !! Just did some cropping, took out the bird (not carefully) and adjusted contrast using the pre set linear contrast curve .. btw been using the pre sets and they work well. I know they have been there since CS3 probably before !!

btw love seeing the one buff on the left !!!

Some good points made here from Ken & Hilary, didn't realize how distracting that Egret really was until it was gone!
    Effective repost Al, thanks.
