    A photographer in UK picked this so I thought I would try it here.

    Taken in one of the many small lakes resulting from the flooding of the River Khwai, Botswana, 26th April 2010

    EOS 1D MkIV

    500mm F4 IS hand-held from vehicle

    I like the pose and low angle and wish the bird were angled toward you. It looks as if there is a S/H halo around the head.

    The halo is not from S/H, it is caused by not enough attention being paid to darkening the BG water, I'll clear it up. I actually liked the slight look away.

    An interesting bird, you captured beatiful detail on the feathers. Not that there is anything wrong with water lilies, but I wish they were not there distracting from the bird.

    I am afraid that the chances of finding any stretch of water without Water Lillies, in the Okavango region is very remote indeed.

    Nice to see this from the cat king... very similar to our open bill stork only ours is grey.

    Thank you for your kind comment,I have little idea of Indian Birds only having visted twice concentrating on Tigers. I'll have to look out for a Grey Open Bill next time:)
