    Just returned from a 2.5 day Pelagic Trip out of San Diego. This picture is of a Black-foot Albatross landing to fight with the Western Gulls over chum from the boat. Nikon D300s Sigma 50-500 hand held on a rocking boat. Slight adjustments in CS 4. this was a great trip with good company many good sightings of birds ad mammals and excellent food

    Interesting behavior and I like the soft light. I'd love to go on a pelagic trip on the West coast sometime.

    Hey Myer, This is pretty darned cool. Love the feet of the big bird and the wing position. Do you have any more room on the right???

    Sorry no more room the only crop was from the top. I wanted to get the albatross in. I could have shortened my focal length but there were more gulls to the right

    Excellent work, I know full well how hard it is to shoot albatrosses :) Great work, you've got the DOF just right here I think. The pose and the flock of gulls just makes it more like a pelagic :) Great shot.
