The holiday weekend was very good at both these locations. Though the weather was hot the breeze was low and maybe this helped the birds come out. Estero (on Sunday) had chicks out, both Wilson's and Least Terns. I did enjoy being attacked by the Least Terns, even though I tried to stay away from their area. It did offer a couple good shots (below). I also saw Bald eagles, Night herons (on the beach!!!), rabbits, and many Osprey pairs fishing together. Many photo ops. Most of the action was at least a quarter of a mile south of Holiday Inn and was active all morning. I walked south to the end of the island, much the grassy area was roped but many of the chicks and adults from time to time made there way to water outside the ropes. Went through 600 shots in a couple hours because of BIF shooting. 8megs was not enough!
Saturday morning I was at Ding and saw about 30 Spoons at the tower, with good fly over shots. Many Photographers were there, and since I am bad with names I just remember a few Bobs and Bills. Hi anyway. I plan to post the shots at the link below for an idea of what was there.
On both these days the air was fairly still, no fronts or storms.
