Meadow Pipit from a trip to the beach today. Got a few singing but this one was inspired by Lance Peters. Using the OOF foreground and foliage to peek through at the bird.

    Comments/critiques most welcome.

Like it a lot Stu Great feel to this image Might increase the contrast on the bird just a tad and would take some from left/bottom !!! Could also take the two twigs merging with beak !!! Excellent !!!

thanks Alfred. Once again, after you point something out, it becomes glaringly obvious and I think how did I miss that? (the two twigs.)

Will repost with adjusts tomorrow. thanks again.

    kind regards.

Hi Stuart - You've got the idea!!
Can be lots of fun and something I particularly look for - can be difficult to get one that works well - but when it does - It really does!!
Like this a lot - the OOF elements work well to frame the bird - agree with the suggestion of a little contrast on the bird. Head is angled just a fraction away from you - just that little bit more head turn - Picky I know.

    Good one!!

This is a very pleasing image and I love the colours. I would be interested to see what playing around with the contrast and WB could achieve. Will try myself in PS.

Nice capture...habitat does seem to interfer quite a bit with the main subject.

Thanks for the critque. Took on board the comments and also had a play with the WB. Also removed/lessened the foliage around the birds head.

    Going in the right direction?

    regards.

Hi Stuart, repost is looking good and very much in the right direction. The grass clean up looks good around the beak. Not much more to add so wait and see if anyone else gives further comment. I am not sure if I want to see the bird pop from the image a little more by using adjusting curves.

Thanks for the feedback Jamie. Will give a pop curve a try but like the kinda muted look to this one.

    kind regards.
